The new Polygraph and Labo T Records release, Confidence, is essentially a healthy slab of emotional Melodic Techno / Progressive House music, and with its chilled vibes and dreamy electronics, it’s a track that you really don’t want to miss out on.
Kicking off with some chilled-out, ethereal voices but a firm, determined beat, Polygraph – Confidence gradually develops into something transcendental without being overly dramatic, a feat which can be difficult to achieve when it comes to this particular brand of introspective Techno music. Throughout the course of the track, it develops a certain sense of warmth and passion too, with the producer utilizing expansive synths and rousing melodies that are full of heart to achieve the song’s overall climactic sound.
Then, around round halfway through, Confidence drops to almost complete silence – a clever trick on Polygraph’s part which allows him to build up the track again with even more pent-up energy and momentum than it had before. There is, of course, also a stunning drop to appreciate at this point, after which Confidence finds itself bursting with gently arpeggiating synths, echoes of the enchanting main melody, and some solid but never overpowering rhythms – all of which, when combined, make this a track that is surely at the forefront of emotional Melodic Techno / Progressive House music in 2023.
And if you like what you hear on Confidence, we’d also highly recommend checking out French Melodic Techno producer Teho, who created the Labo T label. His collaborations with Einmusik, Ceas, and Joris Delacroix, as well as solo tracks like Dark Matter, Unlocked, and Odyssey, all provide the perfect foil to Polygraph’s Confidence, and only go to show more proof (if more was needed) of the great talents and tastes of the Labo T label founder.
