We have come to know Matroda as a master of Bass House music with releases from the Croatian-born producer that include About To Lose It from earlier in 2025, Hazy from 2022, and a 2022 collaboration alongside Bleu Clair titled PWR. We have also praised Tech House tracks by Matroda including the Revolution 909 meets Outkast – ATliens sounding Throw Ya Hands. You can now add Drum N Bass to the list of genres we have praised Matroda for with his new 2025 VIP release of his track Forget It. Released in 2020, Forget It in its original Future House form has since racked up plays in the hundreds of millions across all platforms. We now get to witness its awesome new facelift as a Drum & Bass track and an integral part of the Variations In Production Vol 1 compilation EP by Matroda.
Matroda – Forget It (Matroda Drum N Bass VIP) opens with a motion synth sequence backed by a pulsing, grainy, yet soothing synth that will later be featured as the main melodic instrument. The vocals are next added to the sequence and are slower than the original version offering up a more soulful feel to them. The granular synth also continues behind the vocals, now forming a melodic bass line that leads to a kick drum-heavy riser, highlighted by a speeding-up tape effect that culminates into a powerful, infectious drop.
The grainy synth doubled with the bass now takes over the melody at the beats drop and it is a very catchy and satisfying listen as the vocals continue repeating the namesake of the track while also aided by intriguing ear candy in the form of digitally edited vocalizations. The main melody then smoothly transitions back to the introduction sequence allowing the track to repeat itself once more to its completion. Matroda – Forget It (Matroda Drum N Bass VIP) leaves us excited to witness the other VIP tracks that will also be released as part of the forthcoming Variations In Production Vol 1 compilation EP. On its own, this new Drum and Bass release for 2025 checks another box on our list of genres for which Matroda should be celebrated.
