Aalson – also known as Aloys Almon – is probably a name that most Melodic House & Techno and Techno fans will be familiar with by now. With his distinctive approach to composing music (which involves combining his love for Techno with his love for film soundtracks), the French producer instantly stands out even in such a crowded scene, and with tracks like Elevation, Rever, Failure and Last One under his belt (the latter a collaboration with Minorah) it’s no wonder that his star is rising fast. This new release, meanwhile – the Aalson – World Of Reflections Remix EP – will no doubt propound his ever-increasing levels of fame by bringing this talented young producer to the attention of fans of other genres. The EP sees Aalson’s track World of Reflections delivered as four different remixes by artists including Mitch De Klein, Polygraph (whose track Confidence we have previously covered), Peer kusiv and Sezer Uysal, with each artist bringing “their unique flair, transforming the introspective journey into diverse sonic landscapes”.
One highlight is Mitch De Klein’s contribution to the Aalson – World Of Reflections Remix EP, which harnesses the original’s extraordinary, rhythm-driven Techno energy and transforms it into something that is possibly even more vibrant. With its climactic build ups and razor-sharp beats, this remix positively fizzles with raw power, particularly in the last two minutes where high, atmospheric melodies are brought in to offset the dark, potent low end.
We also can’t get enough of Sezer Uysal’s remix, which takes a slightly different approach to the song. Stretching the track to more than a minute and a half longer than its original running time, Uysal’s remix of World of Reflections works on building up the atmosphere slowly, starting off with little more than a tense arpeggiated synth, a throbbing kick drum and some sparkling percussion, before gradually adding melancholic piano chords and additional synth parts to keep the layers building.
These two tracks are our personal highlights of the Aalson – World Of Reflections Remix EP, but we’re sure that both new and preexisting fans of the producer will love all that this atmospheric, intriguing release has to offer.
