We’re back with another epic release roundup for you, and today we’re looking at three recent drops that explore a huge range of the House music spectrum.
First up is the irresistible new Stefan Rose Progressive House track called Sardegna, followed by a Deep Melodic and emotive remix by KWEN of Set Me Free by SIB, and we wrap up the feature with It Just Won’t Do by Matt Sawyer, Chris Leon and Aares, which is an Afro House cover of the timeless Tim Deluxe tune.
For the label-heads amongst you, it’s also worth mentioning that these drops are on the UGENIUS, MINDGAME and VillaHangar imprints respectively. As regular EKM readers might already know, we have previously covered several VillaHangar releases, including Drowning by Bona Fide.
How Sardegna, Set Me Free and It Just Won’t Do (Afro House Cover) Move Across Modern House Music
First up on our list today is Sardegna by Stefan Rose via UGENIUS, a Progressive House track featuring intense grooves and an infectiously hypnotic flow. There’s a distinctly atmospheric quality to the production, with the track building its momentum through layered electronic textures rather than relying on an oversized drop. Its melodic elements give the groove plenty of breathing room too, while the steady rhythmic drive keeps things moving throughout. The last drop is absolutely legendary!

Next comes a remix of SIB’s Set Me Free by KWEN via MINDGAME Records, which transforms the track into a Deep Melodic offering with a spacious and emotive approach. Where Sardegna is driven by hypnotic progression, Set Me Free places greater emphasis on melody and mood, creating a more fluid listening experience. KWEN’s remix gives the track plenty of room to develop, with warm electronic tones, smooth female vocals and a restrained groove that gradually draws you in.

Finally, we arrive at It Just Won’t Do via VillaHangar, where Matt Sawyer, Chris Leon and Aares cover Tim Deluxe’s much-loved classic with an Afro House leaning. The original, featuring Sam Obernik, became a club favorite thanks in part to its Latin-influenced House production and memorable trumpet hook. This new version preserves the instantly recognizable spirit of the song while introducing warmer percussion, infectious grooves and a distinctly summery feel. We already know that Matt Sawyer is an expert at Afro House covers – having previously transformed Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill alongside Themba – so it’s little surprise this is arguably the most accessible of all three tracks featured today.

Together, meanwhile, these releases demonstrate just how broad the House music umbrella can be, moving from the Progressive House soundscapes of Sardegna by Stefan Rose, to the Deep Melodic textures of the KWEN remix of Set Me Free by SIB, and finally to the rhythmic warmth of the Afro House cover of It Just Won’t Do. They are three very different tracks, but each offers something that’s worth adding to your playlist.
