Petit Biscuit & Øneheart – early breeze Drifts Through Hypnotic Ambient
First up is the Ambient track early breeze by Petit Biscuit & Øneheart. The former artist might be familiar to EKM readers as a result of the song Pick Your Battles with Diplo, its remix by Malaa, and its remix EP, while Øneheart’s most popular track is snowfall. This track, meanwhile, arguably takes a gentler, more reflective approach. Soft, airy synth textures that bring a dreamy atmosphere, while subtle melodic shifts keep the music moving forward without disturbing its sense of calm. Rather than building towards a huge drop, the duo let the atmosphere do the talking, producing a beautiful piece of Ambient music that is ideal for unwinding.

Andrew Long & Hayyoo – Life Builds an Emotional Cinematic Rush Through Progressive Breakbeat
Andrew Long and Hayyoo bring a little more energy to proceedings with Life. The track is released through Monowave Records, who have previously been responsible for releases like GRIDD – Roots and Moszq – When It’s Time. On this track, meanwhile, the emotional pull comes from the contrast between the track’s restless percussion and its expansive melodic elements. A rolling rhythm gives the song forward momentum, while atmospheric synths and uplifting spoken-word vocals lend it a cinematic quality. There is a real sense of movement as the different layers come together, making this a great example of how electronic music can be both energetic and deeply emotive.

The result is nostalgic without feeling overly sentimental, and makes for excellent background listening.
