‘Rising star’ is a term used far too often in the music industry to describe artists that are nothing of the sort – but that’s certainly not the case with Chicago-based DJ and producer Nikho. With a career spanning fifteen years, he specializes in slick production and driving House and Techno grooves, a combination that has recently seen him perform at festivals including Arc and North Coast. Despite this clear musical vision, his influences are wide-ranging – encompassing Hip Hop, Blues and Electronic – which in turn has enabled him to push the boundaries of the genres within which he works. For proof of this, the Tech House fans amongst you are really going to want to check out Nikho – Enough, the artist’s latest single that was released earlier this month via Beneath the Beat Records.
Bringing together powerful basslines, captivating vocals and deep grooves, Nikho – Enough is particularly distinctive in that it encompasses the hot, high-octane feel of a packed, sweaty nightclub. “This tech house club track is a testament to Nikho’s prowess as a producer, delivering a track that is bound to get partygoers grooving” states the track’s press release, and we couldn’t agree more; remaining unpredictable throughout and yet never losing its heated, dynamic energy, you can really imagine the track blaring out through some enormous club speakers, particularly with its hefty blasts of reverberating melody and catchy, infectious vocals. The artist knows exactly when to raise or lower the levels of tension too, sometimes dropping the bass out to allow listeners to really appreciate the sexy, danceable rhythms, before bringing it right back in again so as not to lose the song’s edgy, pulsating feel.
According to his Spotify account, Nikho – Enough is the Chicago producer’s first release since 2021. For Tech House fans, his return to the studio will be welcomed with open arms, and if he continues to put out tracks of this quality we have no doubt that his popularity will only increase more and more from here.
