Formed in Seattle in 2013 but now based in Los Angeles, indie duo Dance Yourself Clean have hosted numerous music events and released a slew of Dance-centric bangers in recent years. Falling into the latter category is Peach Pit, a delicate, summery single originally released by the duo in 2022, and which is now being remixed by French DJ and producer Bonaar. Combining the talents of these two formidable artists, Dance Yourself Clean – Peach Pit (Bonaar Remix) mixes the sunny melodies of the original with some upbeat Tech House rhythms, making it a perfect track for summer 2024.
Essentially, what the young French producer has very cleverly done with Dance Yourself Clean – Peach Pit (Bonaar Remix) is to make the original sound as though it was written to be a Tech House anthem. By speeding it up, adding some moody bass and incorporating some fresh but simplistic beats, Bonaar gives the remix a feeling of suspenseful energy, with the track’s brooding but climatic drops also adding to this feeling. Elsewhere, pulsing synths and blasts of siren-like bass permeate the female vocalist’s airy, alluring murmurs of “let me be your peach pit / tell me I’m the sweetest”, again serving to drive the track forward and give it a new lease of life in the realm of Tech House.
Dance Yourself Clean are no strangers to remixes, having previously had their collaborative track Upside Down remixed by Le Youth, releasing their own remix of Guess I’m Jaded by Goldroom and Moontower, and even putting out their own remix EP – the Quarantine Mixes – back in 2020. Dance Yourself Clean – Peach Pit (Bonaar Remix), however, might be one of the most entertaining and interesting remixes with which the duo have been involved so far, chiefly on account of the flair and imagination employed by the talented young producer Bonaar, which sees him turning Peach Pit from a bright, balmy summer track into an intoxicating Tech House banger.
