Wavedash x fknsyd are about to blow your mind with this one. Their new collaboration Stallions is the second release off their forthcoming album. Gud Vibrations, the outspoken offspring of NGHTMRE and SLANDER, have snapped it up. New Wavedash music has been highly anticipated since their last Future Bass triumph Dummo Loop (which if you haven’t heard, you can check out here). New fknsyd music is, as always, coming thick and fast on Gud Vibrations.
Wavedash’s recent output lends even more credibility to the claim; everything is bigger in Texas. The music is no exception. From the outset, you can feel this track is going to be something special. A symphony of crushed, distorted horns cry out in triumphant fervor, as a pattern of mangled snares prepare you for the inevitable drop. But just before you get there, Wavedash x fknsyd slam on the brakes. In disbelief, you’re whisked into a second build up. An amen break, more horns and a slurry of effects deliver you to the sonic precipice. You’re on the edge for just long enough. And then it happens.
Wavedash & fknsyd demonstrate their mastery. They harness the energy of two huge build-ups and make good on their promises on this new fknsyd music and new Wavedash music. The euphony of leads and synths manage to sing and scream at the same time. They yield rhythmically to the roided-out Trap kit that gives the track its sense of purpose. Abrupt synth howls, nonsensical percussive breaks and occasionally complete silence all take turns at breaking your musical expectation. You should be used to it by now from the Dubstep stylings of Gud Vibrations, but Wavedash x fknsyd are still finding new ways to surprise.
The vocoded stylings of fknsyd take you on through the bridge and up on to the second drop where you get to do it all again. This time with even more craziness. By the end you feel like you’ve just run laps. The energy of this track is exhausting. But you’ll still want more. Luckily, Gud Vibrations know that and are more than happy to help.
