Throttle and helloworld – Weightless Feeling is the new 2023 song from these two very different but equally talented electronic artists. The deep and emotional Future Bass / Electro Pop song is essentially a paean to the feeling of weightlessness that comes with shaking off unhelpful thoughts and feelings; “this piece is about wanting to feel weightless again” says helloworld, “to be free of something that’s been pulling on you emotionally”.
Indeed, when you’re listening to the track you can certainly feel the sense of weightlessness that the music aims to create, with an atmospheric, vocal-led introduction setting the scene with emotional lyrics like “close the door / that’s what they always told me”. As we approach the chorus the pace picks up a little, with the addition of a more intense drum beat, a delicate piano part, and a flurry of intoxicating synthesizers, as well as the main melody line of “I’m looking for that weightless feeling / cos lately everything just pulls me down”. From there the track remains poignant and emotive, building momentum around more stirring lyrics (“feelin’ like a train running off the track”) and even a post-bridge drop towards the end of the song.
But despite this increased momentum, Weightless Feeling still manages to retain a sense of mellowness and looseness throughout, its ethereal instrumentation and tender sentiment making listeners feel as though they really are chasing that feeling of weightlessness that we all long for.
Throttle and helloworld – Weightless Feeling really is a very impressive release and a prime example of a deep and emotional Future Bass / Electro Pop song. And whilst this is something we’ve arguably come to expect from Throttle (aka Australian Robbie Bergin who has previously toured with the likes of Avicii), this release feels like a huge step forward for helloworld (aka Drew Wilken), who hasn’t been on the scene for very long but who is already making a name for himself. We highly recommend you check out some of his other releases that we’ve previously covered on the blog – including dive in, warning signs, nowhere left to hide and Something I Can’t Change – as well as, of course, this new Throttle and helloworld 2023 song!
