John Summit in collaboration with Silver Panda has brought forth a remix of the massive hit Sweet Disposition from 2008 by the band The Temper Trap. Summit starts 2024 with a thriving back catalog built on originals like the emotion-evoking Where You Are from 2023, his dance anthem Human (ft. Echoes), and the club heater Make Me Feel, as well as the Acid Techno dance track Revolution. The duo Silver Panda came into the remix collaboration with Summit following the releases of some of their most well-received originals in Deep Space and Welcome To The Night which were both produced in tandem with Sevenn. The Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition (John Summit & Silver Panda Remix) brings a 2024 Melodic House and Techno twist to the original which upon its premiere in 2008 climbed into the top 10 of the charts along with being constantly broadcasted into living rooms all over the world as it was featured in a lengthy ad campaign for Diet Coke.
We can’t believe that fifteen years have passed since Sweet Disposition was first released by The Temper Trap which is an Aussie band that currently resides in London. The 2024 John Summit and Silver Panda remix of Sweet Disposition opens with an introduction featuring the signature falsetto vocals from The Temper Trap’s frontman Dougy Mandagi over dark synth pads and shrouded in a vocal chopping effect. A drum riser paired with a fast-moving arpeggiated synth loop leads the remix to the first drop of its main groove. The fast-moving arpeggiated synth bell loop continues into the main groove while aided by a sixteenth-note bass pattern and four-on-the-floor kick drum. As the remix reaches the chorus it takes on more of a House music feel with added hi-hat on the off beats. Following another drum riser, a Techno lead synth melody takes over for the vocals and transitions into a breakdown section similar to the introduction featuring just the vocals, dark synths, and looping arpeggios. A longer drum riser coming out of the breakdown section is followed by an extended vocal tease before the beat drops again with the Techno synth melody focus followed by the final passage of the chorus that brings The Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition (John Summit & Silver Panda Remix) to its conclusion.
