Last year trailblazing French producer Space 92 hit number one on the Beatport Techno chart with a song called Colonia released on Factory 93. In 2023, he’s already released another EP (titled Gravity) plus three collaborative singles and a solo track, and now he’s looking to continue this stellar run of releases with yet another new cosmic and driving Techno music single, Space 92 – Apollo.
Steeped in spacey synths, atmospheric percussion, and pounding rhythms, Apollo is a track that Space 92 himself has described as “a true dance floor weapon”, and we’re inclined to agree. In fact, there seems to be little doubt that this single will see similar success to that of Colonia and Space 92’s other popular releases, not least because it is a shining example of the Frenchman’s keen ear for driving Techno music and an upbeat banger from start to finish.
Apollo’s key feature, for instance, is undoubtedly its rumbling bass synths, which reverberate through the track and drive it along for its entire six-minute duration. The track’s high point meanwhile is surely the drop at around the three-and-a-half minute mark, which quite literally sounds like a storm of those fantastically brutal bass synths and truly relentless kick drums swirling and throbbing through our ears.
As for Space 92, his achievements as a producer of new cosmic and driving Techno music via Factory 93 go far beyond simply making number one on the Beatport Techno chart; born Mathieu Mourareau, at the age of 18 he was booked for international gigs and later he’d even start his own record label, Perfekt Groove Recordings.
The producer has certainly found his own ‘perfect groove’ (if you’ll excuse the pun) with his latest string of releases too, not least in Space 92 – Apollo which achieves the perfect balance between cosmic electronics and hardcore Techno beats.
