RIOT are a widely renowned LA-based DJ duo made up of Tom Davidson and Daniel Magid, who you might already be familiar with on the basis of tracks like Meditate, Waterfall (with Far Out and RUNN), Juggernaut, and their contribution to the remixes spin-off of REAPER’s debut LP DISRUPTOR. Now, the duo are adding to this celebrated back catalogue with the new heavy Dubstep release RIOT – March of the Machine, a song which is released via the Gud Vibrations record label.
The Rise of Cinematic Bass: RIOT’s New Gud Vibrations Release
The first thing you’ll notice about the new RIOT Dubstep track, March of the Machine, is how blatantly dramatic it is – cinematic choirs merge with an empowering spoken-word vocal and brutal Dubstep basslines to give listeners the feeling that the machines really are rising up and marching towards them. Elsewhere, the duo use their production prowess to craft glitchy percussive fills and bold stabs of synth, both of which, when combined the song’s cinematic and orchestral elements, result in a track that feels as though it could have come straight out of a blockbuster sci-fi film.
How RIOT Merge Cinematic Bass Power With Crushing Dubstep Energy
This new RIOT song, March of the Machine, is the perfect showcase of the duo’s ability to blend emotional depth and the power of cinematic Bass with the unrelenting intensity of Dubstep. On the surface, the track is packed with explosive drops and super sharp production design, but underneath all are plenty of emotive, atmospheric build-ups and narrative touches for listeners to really get their teeth into.
All in all, this new Gud Vibrations heavy Dubstep release cements RIOT’s place at the forefront of the 2025 Cinematic Bass and Dubstep scenes, proving as emotionally resonant and impactful as it is gripping and explosive.
