Maarten Vorwerk aka The man behind Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike, Van Hage, Yves V & many more!

Maarten Vorwerk ghost producer

Maarten Vorwerk is a Dutch ghost producer widely credited as the person behind some of the biggest EDM tracks of the early 2010s. While the DJs performing these tracks became household names, Vorwerk was quietly working behind the scenes — composing, producing, and largely staying out of the spotlight.

Who is Maarten Vorwerk?

Vorwerk is a Netherlands-based producer who built his reputation as one of the most prolific ghost producers in the EDM world. His Twitter bio at the time simply read “Ghost Producer” — about as open as it gets in an industry where ghost producing is rarely acknowledged. He was also listed by Cloud9 Music as one of their ghost producers, with the agency noting his involvement in some of the era’s biggest festival tracks.

It’s worth noting that ghost producing exists on a spectrum. Some artists openly collaborate with producers and credit them. Others prefer to keep it quiet. Vorwerk himself has never explicitly confirmed every track attributed to him, and some of his involvement may have been collaborative rather than sole authorship — but the credits speak for themselves.

What Did Maarten Vorwerk Produce?

Based on official composer credits and music database records, Vorwerk is listed as a composer or co-writer on the following tracks:

  • Swedish House Mafia – Until Now album (AllMusic)
  • Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – Wakanda (AllMusic)
  • Sandro Silva & Quintino – Epic (Finnish Charts)
  • Quintino – We Gonna Rock (Finnish Charts)
  • Yves V & Felguk – WOW (Original Mix) (Traxsource)
  • Yves V – Arkadia (Original Mix) (Musikwebb)
  • Jacob Van Hage & Oliver Heldens – Thumper (Original Mix) (Upcoming DJs)
  • Jacob Van Hage – Spotfire (Discogs)
  • Ruthless – Gers (Discogs)

Cloud9 Music specifically stated: “Our ghost producer Maarten Vorwerk was involved in Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s ‘Wakanda’, which premiered during the final tour from Swedish House Mafia.”

Ghost producing has always been part of the music industry — in EDM it became particularly widespread during the festival boom of the early 2010s, when demand for new material far outpaced what many touring DJs could produce on their own.
