Insomniac‘s imprint Factory93 have put out some seriously high-quality Techno releases over the last few years, with some notable examples including BEC’s Retox, Eli Brown and Lily Palmer’s Gasoline, and Alex Stein’s Crank. Adding to this list later this month, meanwhile is the new Kaspar and Factory93 release DLCD, a fiery peak-time Techno track that slots in nicely beside the Stuttgart-based artist’s previous work. But that’s not all: Kaspar – DLCD will also be featured on Factory93’s new 2024 Techno music compilation Module 6, which follows on from previous instalments in the series including 2022’s much-lauded Module 1.
Kaspar – DLCD certainly earns its place on such an anticipated compilation too, with the intoxicating peak-time track keeping the DJ’s typically fast-paced but straightforward sound at the forefront for its entire three-and-a-half-minute duration. A huge four to the floor beat provides a solid but relentless foundation for frantic, growling bass and pulsing electronics that teasingly give away only snatches of melody. Indeed, it is this combination of musical elements that dominates much of this new Kaspar & Factory93 track; it is only around the two-minute mark that the main melody comes in, taking the form of an intriguing, breathy vocal sample whispering the words “dance / life / control”. The climax of Kaspar – DLCD subsequently occurs during the song’s final minute, when a huge drop gives way to some intense, squelching basslines and some screeches of electronics that really enhance the track’s peak-time feel.
All in all, this frenetic, bass-driven track is really not one that fans of peak-time Techno will want to miss out on, with its high-powered production and exhilarating feel really doing credit to the Factory93 label. Similarly, if this track is anything to go by, then the label’s new 2024 Techno music compilation Module 6 will also be one of the unmissable releases of this summer, bringing those fiery dancefloor vibes to Techno fans everywhere.
