Do you know what Bliptronic is? No? Don’t sweat it, I didn’t know either. I recently learned that Bliptronic is an inexpensive minimalist, almost toy-like synth that creates simple patterns and retro style sounds. The track I have for you today, Adrianna Krikl – Every Way, the lead single of the Sonic Escapes EP, is a fusion of Electronica, Trip Hop and IDM, with inspiration drawned from incorporating Bliptronic sounds into each song.
When I heard “Every Way” for the first time, my first reaction was how it reminded of the good old Chemical Brothers and Crystal Method. The track starts off with a fluid enigmatic intro and slowly progresses into a very chill but dynamic and danceable break beat rhythm with the slow incorporation of the blissful female vocal sample “Every way”.
The song would be such an amazing track for a film score, I can imagine just too well an exhilarating scene, maybe a UK movie, perhaps a Danny Boyle joint or something like “Run Lola Run”. This is not very surprising since Adrianna is Los Angeles based and worked on scores for television projects, movies and art installations.
Film score or not, this is some pure intelligent dance music that the real electronic music heads will immediately fall in love with. My only complain about the song: it feels like even at 5 minutes 12, it is too short.
