Ring noord are back with a new release, and this time they are bringing us two tracks on Vision Recordings, Aerial and Kontusion, both of which comprise the experimental DnB / Techno sound design that has made this duo’s music so distinctive up until this point. Previous tracks like Wild Flowers and a Drum and Bass mix of Pleasure Model were celebrated by fans and critics alike, and this new dark song for 2025 is bound to keep the duo – whose members have previously been affiliated with Noisia, Sleepnet, and Former – at the forefront of the modern DnB and Techno scenes.

“We like walking through the city with this in our headphones. It’s music for movement – for losing track of where the beat ends and you begin.”

With their new tracks Aerial and Kontusion, ring noord dives deeper into the murky intersections of Drum and Bass, Techno, and abstract sound design which the duo have experimented with so successfully in the past. Aerial builds tension through metallic-sounding percussion and a ghostly spoken-word vocal, evolving into denser rhythmic layers that feel both hypnotic and semi-industrial. Kontusion, meanwhile, is punchier and more chaotic, with fractured drums, rumbling low end and eerie synths keeping the sound powerful but unpredictable. Overall, both tracks showcase ring noord’s unmistakeable precision, their slick sound design, emotional intensity, and ability to take the listener on a true musical journey as opposed to just focusing on those builds and drops. As the duo themselves said of the two tracks:

“They’re made with a techno–drum & bass mindset, No lead track – just two versions of the same idea. Both are about getting lost rather than chasing a peak.”

✨Inside the Creative Union of Noisia, Sleepnet, and Former on Vision Recordings

What makes Aerial and Kontusion on Vision Recordings so compelling is how seamlessly ring noord channels the sound of their previous projects, whilst also successfully carving out a release that feels entirely their own. Elements of Noisia’s precision-engineered chaos, Sleepnet’s cinematic tension, and Former’s minimalist intensity blend together perfectly on the two tracks, making them the perfect dark Drum and Bass tracks for Vision Recordings in 2025. Of the two, Aerial is arguably the strongest track, its experimental DnB / Techno sound design not only matching the high quality that is often heard on Vision Recordings releases, but also conjuring the unusual feeling of remembering something that never actually existed in reality. As the artists themselves describe:

“It reminds us of fake memories. Like asking an antenna to remember your childhood – knowing it can’t, but hoping it does anyway.”
