prism plaza is a music label run by producer and artist Halfprism, and today we bring you vol.2 of the label’s much-lauded plaza compilation. Organized by artists Halfprism, Blumiere, Patch and FLAKS, the release encompasses electronic music from a huge variety of genres, including 2-step, Garage, Electro House, Dubstep, Gabber, and Drum and Bass.
A Bold Vision of New Electronic Music on plaza vol. 2
With 22 tracks featured on the compilation in total, there is bound to be something on the release for everyone, particularly given that its focus is on innovative music that pushes the boundaries of what we might currently be listening to.
The opening track Made Machine by OXXY and early highlight australis // see the light by Patch are particularly strong in this sense, blending unconventional song structures with glitchy synths and jagged beats to create sounds that are both fresh and familiar.
Another track on the plaza vol.2 compilation that sounds particularly innovative is pixyc’s magnetized, which brings together Ambient music textures with twinkling electronics and bass-heavy rhythms. The result is a genre-spanning feast for the ears that keeps things minimal whilst retaining the fresh energy and momentum of the rest of the compilation.
Why plaza vol. 2 Is a Must-Hear Drop for 2025
Rather like Halfprism’s prism plaza label more generally, this compilation is packed with an incredibly diverse range of music that you would struggle to find on a single release elsewhere at the moment (perhaps with the exception of plaza vol. 1 of the compilation, which came out in August 2023).
It also represents and celebrates what really is the cutting-edge of electronic music in 2025, giving an airing to tracks that will undoubtedly be shaping the genres in which they operate long into the future. In short, if innovative, unpredictable, genre-blending electronic music is your bag, then we can’t recommend the plaza vol. 2 compilation enough!
