Ukranian DJ and producer Miss Monique – real name Olesia Arkusha – is back with another new 2024 Melodic Techno banger. Released on Insomniac’s Interstellar Recordings label, the track is called Miss Monique – Look At You, and it blends moody, melodic synths with a room-shaking bassline and a confessional female vocal. The track follows the artist’s first single release of 2024, Bloom At Night, as well as a slew of other captivating Melodic Techno tracks from over the years, including All I Got, Concorde, and Rider, a collaboration with Pavel Khvaleev.
Bringing dark cosmic vibes to the Techno scene, Miss Monique – Look At You is all about slick production, sparkling electronics and powerful bass, the latter being a significant feature of much of the artist’s work in recent years. Starting as it means to go on, the track has a short, intriguing introduction marked by the ebb and flow of an arpeggiated synth and stabs of vibrant bass, before erupting into a full-blown Techno beat around 15 seconds in. Then the vocal begins to take hold, based around the lyric “I look at you and see the rest of my life”. It might be a simple phrase but it works well given the complex, multilayered nature of the rest of this track, providing a solid hook for listeners to feel drawn to. Interestingly, the vocals also only appear once in the track, and for a very short time, confirming Miss Monique’s status as an artist who likes to take risks and play around with conventional song structures. After the vocal segment, Miss Monique – Look At You is centered once again around its bassline, a relentless, thundering section of the track that contrasts with the glistening, hissing siren-like synths that play over it.
By now most of us know that Miss Monique is an artist who always delivers – and she certainly delivered with Look At You, the new 2024 Melodic Techno banger on Insomniac’s Interstellar Recordings label that is sure to lengthen this talented artist’s time in the spotlight.
