The story of young Nate Earsley is one hungry producers like to hear. At an after party in Monterey, CA, Made in Glitch founder Matt B (Bass Science) discovered a kid on the couch making beats with a laptop and headphones… at 4 in the morning. That’s dedication. So, of course, Matt Baggiani asked to hear what he was making. Earsley, who came up playing guitar, and even made his way onto the vaunted Monterey Blues Festival stage, had crafted a glitchy sound so driven by the dirty funk of the music he grew up on, that he stumbled upon something new. Today marks the release of Worlds Collide on Made in Glitch, which features five ferocious tracks. “Funktronic,” available for free download through The Untz, takes the high-powered persona of James Brown, and pairs him with rip-roaring bass lines and a neck-snapping rhythm. This is glitch to the max from a bright young star on the rise.
