warner case – sing me a song is a curious but infectious new piece of Tech House music. The man responsible is a classically trained percussionist. After a stint in the modelling industry, he decided to put his rhythmic teachings to good use as a music producer. In 2019, he was named as one of Audiomack’s “Top 20 Emerging Artists”. Since then he’s had releases on Ultra Records, Kitsuné Musique and many more. This new warner case music shows us why he made a good choice by exchanging the timpani for the drum machine.
The vocals grab your attention from the very start of warner case – sing me a song. There’s only a hint of reverb on them, giving them an odd, intimate, slightly claustrophobic quality. The vocals are supported by the knock of a very Tech House-style kick and some tonal synths. This track is pretty minimal. Once it jumps into the main section, which it does so quite unexpectedly, there’s a lot of space around all of the sounds. There’s a beat and you can dance to it, but warner case has created an atmosphere that’s intriguing and slightly foreboding.
New warner case music is always something a bit different. His unique sounds are what has earned him his name on the local NYC scene and his acclaim further afield. If he continues to hone and develop his sound, he will surely leave a big footprint on the Tech House scene in 2021. With so much music getting produced, it’s tough to be different and sound original, but this is something we don’t think warner case will has to worry about any time soon.
