What is Sunset by Neon (Malaysia)?
Sunset by NEON 2024 (Malaysia) is an intimate and minimal festival, taking place on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May 2024 at the stunning Resorts World Awana complex in Genting Highlands. The festival opens at 5pm on both nights and will continue until late. It is also an all-Techno festival – making it the first of its kind in Malaysia – and features legendary Techno artists Boris Brejcha and ARGY in those all-important headlining slots. The festival organizers, NEON, describe the event as both bold and visionary and immersive and experiential, and given that it will offer ticket holders the chance to see a range of fantastic artists, pop-up locations such as a garden and beauty bar, and of course an unmissable view of the sunset from 3100ft above sea level, we are inclined to believe that they’re right.
What kind of music can you expect at Sunset by Neon 2024 (Malaysia)?
You can expect to hear Techno music for the entire weekend at Sunset festival, so if you’re a fan of the genre then this is definitely an event you won’t want to miss out on. Alongside the headliners – that’s minimal Techno artist Boris Brejcha and Techno/House artist ARGY – you’ll also witness a performance by the highly talented Amber Broos, a young DJ from Belgium who recently took Tomorrowland festival by storm with her fiery combination of House, Club and Techno music. Essentially, Sunset by Neon 2024 (Malaysia) is a festival for Techno lovers, whether you’re a fan of original, hardcore Techno styles or an amalgamation of Techno with similar genres such as House.
Where is Sunset by Neon 2024 hosted in Malaysia and how to get there?
The festival takes place in the lush green mountains of Peninsula Malaysia at the Resorts World Awana complex. There are a number of ways to get there, including by car (the venue is a 35-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur, the country’s capital) and cable car (the SkyWay run around every ten minutes from Awana station). You can also travel by bus, with a bus from Kuala Lumpur to the mountains taking between 90 minutes and two hours. If you want to make your journey to the venue a little less stressful, meanwhile, you can book a two-way shuttle bus to the venue in advance via Kumpool. The bus will pick up you at 2pm on either Saturday or Sunday from a number of locations, including the PJ Trade centre in Damansana Perdana, Subang Parade in Subang Jaya, the Awana Besar LRT or KL Sentral. Saturday (Day 1) – May 4th 2024
Minimal Techno artist Boris Brejcha is headlining the Sunset by NEON 2024 (Malaysia) festival on Saturday May 4th, and he is sure to get festival-goers moving with his potent, bass-driven sound as showcased on tracks like Purple Noise and Up Down Jumper. Also featuring on Saturday’s line-up is Victor G, a DJ from Kuala Lumpur who aims to educate audiences about the best Techno music around via his signature grooves. Another highlight will surely be Julia Deychuk, who hails from Ukraine but now resides in Malaysia. Deychuk is nothing short of a Techno expert, and is sure to dazzle audiences with her blend of dark Techno, House and hypnotic Techno.
Sunday (Day 2) – May 5th 2024
Sunday 5th May at the Sunset by NEON 2024 (Malaysia) festival will find ARGY taking the headlining spot, his bold, transcendent sound coming through on chant-based, crowd-pleasing Techno tracks like Aria and Pantheon. Belgian Techno whizz Amber Broos is his primary support act, but you can also expect from hear from acts like CXW and GRFFN, the former a Malaysian duo who have previously played at the KL Warehouse Project, and the latter an experienced Techno DJ who brings energetic vibes to every venue he plays.
