Paultra Violet (Joey Palestina, Spencer Miles, and Joel Hunter Martin) unveiled their captivating debut album We've Already Happened!

Paultra Violet is a trio made up of Joey Palestina, Spencer Miles, and Joel Hunter Martin. While its members have collaborated over the past twenty years, the existence of Paultra Violet is only in its third year of bringing forth its fusion of emotion-driven pop, tech-noir, cold wave, and post-punk influences. Following a handful of attention-grabbing singles released over the past couple of years, Paultra Violet has now debuted their first full album titled We’ve Already Happened. This album will definitely remain with you after listening to it and you may find that different layers from the dozens that make up each track will stick with you after multiple listening sessions.

Some constants you will find on all tracks of the Paultra Violet – We’ve Already Happened album include warm and blanketing synthetic textures, multiple moving melodic and harmonic layers, and driving mind-etching bass guitar lines. To list some of our favorite moments from the album in order of appearance, we will start with the mix of the looping synth bass with the driving bass guitar lines on the second track titled I Left You In Russia. From the album’s title track, we love the rhythm guitar that’s played in the style of Nile Rodgers which invites you to cut a rug despite the song’s darker overtones.

The album’s sixth track titled Fugazzi Horoscope has one of the strongest hooks that stays with you in its repeating bass motif. The vocals from the seventh track titled Honestly I Always Knew has a Pet Shop Boys vibe for a nice taste of nostalgia. Lastly, the album’s final track titled Here’s To You has a motif present from start to finish that has a soft texture to it like blowing into a bottle. Its unique texture, repetition, and the fact that it’s the final thing we here on the album allows this motif to really stick with you long-term after the album is over. Like anyone, we aren’t always able to listen to a whole album in one sitting and as we have stated earlier, many lasting memories will come from this album depending on the last track you have listened to.
