The new Max Styler & Oscar L Techno music EP on Truesoul Records is nothing less than a showcase for the talents of two incredible electronic music artists. Titled Addiction and Yapper, the EP’s two tracks are upbeat, intense and highly energetic, and as such will no doubt go down a storm with both new and pre-existing fans.
The first track on Max Styler & Oscar L – Addiction / Yapper is dominated by its vocal sample, which features prominently throughout. Describing how “we’ve got an addiction / to the bass groove / to the drums / to the rave life”, the low, almost menacing voice sits well on top of the track’s sharp beats and hard, caustic synths. The second track Yapper, meanwhile, has a similar musical style but drops the vocal sample in favor of some unmistakable chattering synths that almost sound like voices. At just three minutes, the track is a little shorter than the three-and-a-half-minute Addiction, and consequently is more intense, its beats sounding heavier and more potent and its main drop hitting that little bit harder. But both tracks on Max Styler & Oscar L – Addiction / Yapper are enjoyable in their own ways, with the former certainly benefitting from its quirky lyrical concept.
EKM has previously covered releases by both of the artists involved with this EP (Max Styler with his track Amazing and Oscar L with Arena), but it is the first time we have had the opportunity to cover a collaboration between them, which is an exciting prospect for us given their reputations and much-lauded output until now. No doubt this new Max Styler & Oscar L Techno music EP on Truesoul Records will come to receive similar acclaim, with its blend of gritty synths, propulsive beats and distinctive vocal samples and synth sounds making it an unmissable release for true Techno fans.
