Le Youth is an LA-based producer and remixer. Since his debut in 2012, he’s remixed and been remixed by some of the biggest names in electronic music. The latest Le Youth remix is a Progressive House update of DYC‘s (Dance Yourself Clean) new single ‘Upside Down’, featuring Trenton. Although the original track is new DYC music, released only two weeks ago, this rework comes hot on its heels. The famed remixer has wasted no time with this one, and the Lights & Music Collective did the same for the release. When you hear it, you’ll understand why!
If you don’t already know DYC then we’ve got you covered. The Seattle-born and LA-raised music collective are responsible for the bumping ‘Quarantine Remixes’ EP last year. They also released their catchy remix of Goldroom & Moontower’s ‘Guess I’m Jaded’. The group has an infectious energy about their music that’s simultaneously modern and retro. It’s safe to say that we were spoiled with new DYC music in 2020. However, 2021 is starting great with this new remix by Le Youth that turns ‘Upside Down’ on its head. (Meaning it’s now the right way up?)
The immaculate production on this remix is apparent from the get-go. The drums are clean and the synths are dreamy. The retro-futuristic Nu-Disco sound of the original has been completely replaced by pure Progressive House vibes. Trenton’s vocals are still front and center but they’ve been transformed. They’re no longer just Pop vocals, but a powerful, soulful lullaby. Prog House fans are going to love this latest Lights & Music Collective release. Once again, the LA-producer has proved that anything he touches turns to gold!
