Christian Fischer – The Rise is a Techno banger for the modern age, although perhaps not in the conventional sense. Described by the artist himself as “delivering a sonic journey that transcends boundaries”, the track blends classic elements of Techno such as four-to-the-floor beats, a brutal bass line and sampled vocals with the more unusual element of orchestral strings, creating an innovative, dramatic track that does justice to his pre-existing legacy as an EDM artist.
The main focus of Christian Fischer – The Rise is its intense vocal sample – “I want you to break it down” – which comes and goes in various forms throughout the track. Its gritty and commanding nature means that it contrasts heavily with the rich, melodic strings that enter the track after around a minute, and alongside the heavy percussive elements and repetitive, room-shaking bass, they give the impression of old meeting new, or perhaps classic meeting contemporary. “With The Rise” Fischer himself said,” I wanted to create something that felt both familiar and innovative. By incorporating strings and acid sounds, I aimed to capture the essence of Techno while pushing the genre into new territory”. He’s certainly achieved that with this new release, which is one of the freshest and most creative Techno tracks we have heard this year.
Based in Leipzig, Germany, Christian Fischer has been in the music business for over 25 years now, with some of his most popular tracks to date including Restless, Rituals, and his remix of Martin Eigenberg and Thomas Heat’s mean and moody track Congo. No doubt Christian Fischer – The Rise will now also be considered worthy of inclusion on this list of inventive and mesmeric songs that the artist has been involved with, and as such we hope this unique blend of genres is something the artist will continue to pursue as part of his upcoming releases.
