The West-coast producer has commanded the stage at some of America’s most notorious festivals, such as Coachella, Burning Man and Electric Forest. His live shows feature scintillating sounds and dazzling visuals, not to mention the fire spinners and dancers. You might already have some preconceived notions about what a Valentine’s day single would sound like. You should probably put those expectations to one side before hitting play on an-ten-nae – Your Love Makes Me Higher. This track is a twisting, glitched-out medley of different sonic styles. It jumps quickly from one groove to the next with Electro style edits, keeping you on your toes from start to end. New an-ten-nae music takes many forms. His normal productions are a combination of Dubstep and Hip Hop. But it also escapes the definition of both of these genres. He describes his modus operandi with the simple phrase ‘I make beats’. It’s accurate as there’s a raw, Lo-Fi feel to them but they ooze creativity and raw musical aptitude.
So, considering that this is a Valentine’s day single drop, is an-ten-nae – Your Love Makes Me Higher a love song? Not a traditional one at least. But it does have a lot of atmosphere and a lot of attitude, which we love. The best thing about an-ten-nae is his versatility and creativity.
