Sistek is out with a fresh and vibrant remix of the Tudor and Caroline Byrne high-energy Melodic House cover of the 2001 R&B song Wish I Didn’t Miss You by Angie Stone. Tudor and Caroline Byrne released their cover version earlier this year which featured Byrne’s vocals capturing the soul of Stone’s original performance with a new modern House feel to it. Sistek is known for his original work including the massively popular track Pitfalls that Tudor was a featured performer on. Remixes by Sistek are also in high demand as his catalog includes the well-received remix of the Rosie Darling and OKO song L.A. as well as a remix of the Melanie Wehbe track Shy.
The lively new Sistek remix of Tudor & Caroline Byrne – Wish I Didn’t Miss You turns up the temperature from the original with a few noticeable differences. First off, the key of the song has been transposed up a few steps allowing the higher-pitched vocals to immediately establish a bustling delivery while still maintaining its soulful feel. The pulsing synth basses from the original also have an added sharp-toothed growl to them on the new Sistek remix. The beat in the remix is a busier House groove built off the original featuring more kicks and hi-hats per loop.
What really makes Tudor & Caroline Byrne – Wish I Didn’t Miss You (Sistek Remix) standout is the use of the rhythmic chopped vocal editing technique employed by Sistek that creates fresh accompaniments and melodies for the track that are all sampled from the lyrics and vocalizations sung by Byrne. This technique is used right from the get-go as the chopped vocals are the first thing you hear as they assemble into the opening phrase sung in the introduction. The chopped vocals are next used as an accompaniment in the pre-chorus section as they build up and transition to become the focus of the following chorus section. In the end, the new Tudor & Caroline Byrne – Wish I Didn’t Miss You (Sistek Remix) adds an animated aspect to this Deep House cover that will keep the dance floor occupied while celebrating the greatness of the original Angie Stone track.
