Qlank brings forth a new 2024 Tech meets Bass House music song titled Therapy that will have you committed for treatment as you become addicted to its infectious grooves and fetching chant. The LA-based and Detroit-bred artist has astonished us since debuting in 2018 with banger tracks that include the suspense-filled and hard-hitting Location from 2020, the mega collaboration with AC Slater and Queen Millz from 2021 titled Suffocating, and the more recent Bass House track with a fair amount of surreal digital weirdness in it titled Yup. Therapy is another release from Qlank under Insomniac’s IN/ROTATION label. This new 2024 Qlank & IN/ROTATION Records song puts you through a hard-grooving sonic POV experience of seeking help to face your demons.
Qlank – Therapy opens from the perspective of someone coming back into consciousness as all the surroundings are heavily reverberated and made up of the many entities displayed throughout the track while held together by a rubbery and bouncing four-on-the-floor kick drum. A drum riser acts as the final stage of returning to consciousness as the beat drops establishing clarity and structure. The now-established main section brings together all the entities heard in the fantasy-like intro in a hard-grooving fashion as the four-on-the-floor kick drum continues with hi-hat off beats, an undulating bass line, and a repeating voice drop of the therapist proclaiming “You got a problem, what’s your problem, can I help you?”. Following each of the therapist’s repeated proclamations is a perfectly placed sharp-toothed bass swell that can be best summed up as sounding like the native tongue of Chewbacca the Wookie, the beloved character from Star Wars.
At its midway point, Qlank – Therapy falls into chaos as the beat drops out leading to kaleidoscopic surroundings that are again made up of all of the main grooves entities. Once again, a drum riser brings the track’s protagonist back from its mental collapse and into reality as the beat drops once more, taking us through another satisfying round of interactions between the therapist and the protagonist. The track ends with the beat playing out without the words of the therapist and concludes with one final downward-moving bass swell likely signifying the patient relapsing. You won’t want to miss out on Therapy, the Qlank & IN/ROTATION Records song for 2024 that brings a Tech meets Bass House music vibe to its captivating experience.
