Horatio Luna has delivered his fresh and funky remix of the track Ride The Dragon by Nick Marks. Upon its original release by Marks on his debut EP titled Cinematic Chromatics Vol I back in September, Ride The Dragon has been represented as one of the pinnacles of modern jazz fusion music. This music tradition began with bands like Weather Report and Return To Forever back in the 70s and is currently continued by bands like Snarky Puppy and the multi-genre artist Nick Marks. Ride The Dragon featured Marks on all keyboards and synthesizers with a cast of others to fill out the horns and rhythm section bringing forth this classic but modern sound. Along came Horatio Luna who on top of creating his own modern jazz original tracks also has remix credits that include Apollo by Astral Flex and Pieces by The James Wright Trio featuring Danika Smith. Luna has brought forth a dancefloor-ready remix of Ride The Dragon that is groove-based with two specific focuses from the original.
Nick Marks – Ride The Dragon (Horatio Luna Remix) starts with a focus on a sped-up version of the main electric piano vamp from the original, repeated to establish the first groove. A new four-on-the-floor kick drum is added to the vamp along with a disco-worthy bass guitar part. The added kick drum and new bassline propels Nick Marks – Ride The Dragon (Horatio Luna Remix) to where canned heat in the heels will develop amongst its listeners populating the dancefloor. A second section is brought about in the Nick Marks – Ride The Dragon (Horatio Luna Remix) that takes the turnaround section that occurs just before the one-minute mark of the original and turns it into a new featured loop with head-nodding results. Following a few rounds of the second section loop, the remix then returns to its original electric piano vamp loop for another go before making way for a final closing section that features just the added kick drum and auxiliary percussion that brings Nick Marks – Ride The Dragon (Horatio Luna Remix) to its conclusion. This new remix has the power to unite both the modern jazz aficionados and the House, Funk, and Disco music crowd. For that we highly urge you to check out Nick Marks – Ride The Dragon (Horatio Luna Remix).
