Brazilian born and Barcelona-based artist Lucas Freire who goes by the stage name Lukas is celebrating 25 years on the scene with a new EP titled Blood Moon. As one of the innovators of Hard Techno, Lukas has brought forth dynamic tracks of the genre that include Virus Infection from 2013, Into The Wild from 2016 which was produced in tandem with Fatima Hajji, and most recently for 2025, the track Scream For Your Life which was produced alongside Johnny Piras. Lukas – Blood Moon EP is made up of two heavy-hitting tracks in the self titled Blood Moon and Push It.

Blood Moon, the self titled track, is set in motion from its lifeblood in a relentless head turning industrial kick drum that stomps right through you. The ricochet effect on this industrial kick will have you banging your head immediately. After introducing this massive kick, it then gets taken to another level with added low end that will rattle your soul. A simple yet fetching melody is soon introduced that is ripe for use as a theme to the next great horror film. A breakdown section allows this eerie melody to show off it’s depth as a standalone melody.

Push It opens with the same force in its industrial kick drum as Blood Moon. Following a classic Big beat styled drum fill, a voice drop culminates with a quote from the 1998 movie Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas that stars Johnny Depp and Benicio del Toro and is adapted from the Hunter S. Thompson novel of the same name. Following the quote, the beat continues as assorted sounds answer the kick drums call in the forms of an anvil being struck, to the whump of a golf swing, and quick skidding hype inducers. At the track’s midway point a mind altering fast sequencing laser-esque synth motif joins in as it is accompanied by another pass of the Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas quote.

Lukas – Blood Moon EP is being released under the Audiocode Records label ran by Freire and fellow DJ Fernanda Martins. A tour of Spain will culminate for Lukas following the release of the Blood Moon EP allowing Hard Techno diehards to witness the man and his craft in person and help celebrate his 25 years on the scene.
