If you’re a fan of Hard Techno / Hard Dance music, this new Joanna Coelho EP on TMinus Records is probably going to be one of your favorite releases of 2024! Titled Joanna Coelho – Make You Move EP, the release features three tracks that truly embody the artist’s love for the dark, dynamic and industrial elements of the Techno music genre. You may well have caught her performance at the Sound Waves Winter Edition Festival in Lisbon last year, but if not this EP is the perfect opportunity for you to get acquainted with Coelho’s instantly recognizable musical style.
First up on the Joanna Coelho – Make You Move EP is the title track, which certainly lives up to its name. Dominated by a deep, room-shaking kick drum, Make You Move will have you instantly engrossed in the worlds of Hard Techno and Hard Dance music, its dark, hardcore energy proving that Coelho has absolutely mastered these two genres. Occasionally a burst of vocal or heavy, saw-like synths will take the spotlight, but in reality its those industrial kick drums that will keep listeners coming back to this track time and time again.
The second track on this new Joanna Coelho Hard Techno / Hard Dance music EP is called Another One, and this time its focus is divided between a hard-edged bass synth and more of those heavy four-to-the-floor kicks drums. A vocal sample (“that was another one”) adds some variety to the track, before the listener is launched once again into what the artist herself describes as a the “Hardgroove” section with those “Hard Techno kicks”.
Finally we have Warrior, perhaps the most accomplished of the three tracks that feature on the Joanna Coelho – Make You Move EP. Here, a mystical, angelic voice is combined with Coelho’s trademark Hardcore grooves to create a track that is steeped in both mysteriousness and dark energy. It’s the perfect closer to this new Joanna Coelho Hard Techno / Hard Dance music EP, in that it shows the producer can step out of her comfort zone in the studio without compromising on the intensity of her music.
