59 PERLEN – The Worst Thing To Live Without is built upon a foundation of atmospheric ambiance that combines crackling pink noise with calming fluttering mid-ranged synth drones simulating the sound of life around you. A deep four-on-the-floor kick drum combined with a syncopated monotone bass line and an offbeat hi-hat provide a bouncing feel to the groove underneath the moving ambiance. A lead synth with a texture like a saxophone joins in playing a simple and effective hypnotizing long-toned melody. A brief breakdown section occurs midway through The Worst Thing To Live Without introducing two more layers that will soon join the main groove, ambiance, and melody.
