It’s fair to say that San Francisco-born producer TATE SEDAR has been met with his share of challenges over the course of this year. Just as he was setting out to rebrand himself as a post-EDM artist, his laptop crashed, eradicating his entire personal music collection and losing a significant amount of material for his live shows. Numerous issues with release campaigns followed, as did various problems with his personal life. But whilst the producer acknowledges that these moments were tough to get through, he is clearly not one to rest on his laurels in this sense, as showcased by the fact he has successfully channeled these experiences into a powerful new track, TATE SEDAR – Overload, which combines Electro and Breakbeat sounds to create a song that is truly representative of what it feels like be overloaded.
One of the first things you’ll notice about TATE SEDAR – Overload is that it takes inspiration from a variety of musical genres and styles, ensuring that the track always remains progressive and never becomes predictable. The track’s punchy production, for instance, is very much inspired by modern Hip-Hop and Bass House, whilst his post-EDM approach brings together both digital and analog elements to create a sound that is highly distinctive. The artist himself says that the track’s influences are varied because he wanted the track to represent “the tumultuous nature of life”, something he has certainly achieved.
Of course, TATE SEDAR – Overload also contains many of the features you’d want to hear from a track by an artist of this calibre. There’s a huge, gnarly lead synth that plays over the numerous layers of percussion, as well as huge builds-ups featuring self-professed ‘monstrous’ synth sounds that really keep you on your toes. Consequently, if you’re a fan of TATE SEDAR’s previous material – whether that’s his remix of Titus1‘s My Fire or his own tracks like San Francisco – we know Overload is going to be making its way onto your playlists as soon as you hear it!
