If you weren’t already aware, N3WPORT is a Virginia-based producer and DJ whose genre-bending sound is nothing short of revolutionary. Don’t believe us? You’re going to want to check out his latest release, the N3WPORT – Have My Heart EP, which showcases five tracks that keeps the fresh, energetic vibes rolling throughout.
One thing you’ll immediately notice about N3WPORT’s Have My Heart EP is its heavy use of a distinctive female vocal, which brings an upbeat but refreshing sound to all of the release’s five tracks. Take the title track, for instance, which opens the EP; alongside a room-shaking rhythm section and melodic synth riffs, the enticing female vocal tells the story of the song, drawing the listener in and keeping energy levels high. Something similar can be said of second track, One More Night, which kicks off with the pleading, emotional vocal before gradually building up the instrumental elements, giving the track a feeling of pulsating intensity that ebbs and flows with the climactic drops and electrifying builds.
Another of the EP’s highlights is closing track Forever In Your Eyes, which takes a darker turn in comparison to some of the other tracks on the release. Combining the sound of dark Melodic House with some Future / UK Garage, the appeal of this track lies in its unique drops, which throws some unexpected Future Bass elements into what is already an electrifying mix of frantic vocal samples and tightly-produced synth riffs.
We also need to give a mention to the centrepiece of the N3WPORT – Have My Heart EP, Diamond Eyes, which the artist describes in his own words as
“a classic ‘driving with the windows down on a spring day’ kind of house song. Perfect for a chill vibe, a dance floor, and everything in between”.
Its sparkling, drawn-out build-ups and refreshing use of vocal samples really does mean that this is a song for every occasion, and as such is arguably the perfect representative of the global appeal of the Have My Heart EP as a whole.
