The rollout of Barcelona-based DJ and producer Mental Frank’s new album of Ambient Deep House music for 2026, titled Corrupted Beauty, continues with the release of its third track, Genesis of Instinct. All eight tracks from Corrupted Beauty will be released individually, one month at a time, leading up to the album’s full release. Genesis of Instinct‘s April release will also coincide with live performances from Mental Frank in Prague. Known for his 4-deck utilization and extended sets of build-up from deep listening to dance, Mental Frank’s live persona is captured well within Corrupted Beauty, with Genesis of Instinct as the latest example for listeners to experience if they are unable to venture to Prague for the live experience.
How Does Mental Frank’s Sound Define Modern Ambient Deep House?
Mental Frank – Genesis of Instinct is a testimony to the power of octaves in music composition, as the track is built around a single bass motif accompanied by glum orchestral pads. As the track progresses, the main motif moves from solo form, in which it is at a higher octave, to its main groove form, where it transitions to a deep bass octave powered alongside the drop of the four on the floor kick drum. The energy built up and released throughout the track is powered by those octave changes as the track portrays progress as more ambience joins the main motif in building fashion with ear candy that includes sonar-like responses to the main motif, to single repeating note industrial motion sequences added near the conclusion of the track.
