Today we’re bringing you a very exciting new release from the Insomniac Records family – a Lost In Dreams compilation album packed with chilled edits of some of their greatest hits. Featuring brand new chilled out versions of some of the biggest and most popular tracks ever to be put out on the label, it’s fair to say that this new Lost In Dreams Chilled Deep & Prog House music compilation album will appeal to fans of both the original tracks and relaxing remixes of old favorites. There are plenty of tracks on the release for you to get your teeth stuck into; today we’re going to tell you about three of our favorites.
First up on the Lost In Dreams – Chilled Edits compilation album is Crystal Skies and RUNN – Hurts Sometimes (Chilled Edit). This track really brings the laid back vibes, combining relaxed beats with a hazy lead melody and lush female vocals. The lyrics are actually quite sad, detailing what sounds like a failed relationship, but whilst this lends the track something of a melancholic vibe, the sweet melodies ensure that it always remains a fun and pleasant track to listen to.

Another highlight of this new Lost In Dreams Chilled Deep & Prog House music compilation album is the chilled edit of Friendzone and Parker’s Read Your Mind, featuring Sad Alex. With its insistent rhythms and slow but sure build-ups, Read Your Mind is a little darker than Crystal Skies and RUNN – Hurts Sometimes (Chilled Edit), bolstered up by its dark bass grumbles and haunting synths. Like Hurts Sometimes, however, the song features a strong female vocal that has the power to both hypnotize and enrapture its listeners.

The third track we want to tell you about from the Lost in Dreams – Chilled Edits compilation album is Highlnd and Elle Vee’s Do Your Worst (Chilled Edit). Starting off with a deep, dramatic intro, this track really comes into its own when it hits the chorus, which is both catchy, emotive and memorable. Elsewhere, gently pulsing synths provide the heartbeat of the song, whilst slowly simmering rhythms gradually become more prominent as the song progresses towards its final crescendo.

Last but not least, the fourth track on this release we want to bring your attention to is Taylor Kade & KATT – Love You Like That (Chilled Edit). Uniting the talents of California EDM artist Taylor Kade and super talented vocalist KATT, the original version of this track was released in 2022, and definitely errs towards the pop side of EDM. This version, meanwhile, keeps the powerful vocal whilst bringing lush layers of synths and more relaxed rhythms to bring those chilled vibes.

All in all, this new Lost In Dreams compilation album brings you Chilled Deep & Prog House music tracks you may well already know and love, but with a brand new twist. It’s not often you find compilations that bring together chilled versions of tracks (usually it’s the case that you find chilled out tracks being remixed into something more upbeat), so in this sense the album really brings a unique perspective to these tracks too. Looking at the Lost In Dreams manifesto, this compilation also feels like it suits the label perfectly; “a transcendental space where visitors can experience a dreamworld come to life” reads the website, describing the events that the label organizes. It is the transcendental nature of this vision that this compilation really hits upon, taking tracks which were originally in a variety of styles and turning them into chilled out versions that truly take the listener to a different place. Consequently, if you’re a fan of anything that Lost In Dreams – or indeed its parent label Insomniac – have put out in recent years, then this compilation is an absolute must-listen, and in fact is probably one of the most original releases from the Insomniac family that we have come across this year.
