Few can deny that Interstellar Records – part of the Insomniac Music group – have put out some seriously banging singles this year, including Miss Monique’s Look At You, Lauren Mia’s Freedom and Airrica’s White Lie. Now, you can add the new 2024 KAS:ST & Interstellar Records Melodic House & Techno music song to this list of releases, in that it continues Interstellar’s tradition of putting out big, bold, memorable Techno and House tracks with an ethereal, atmospheric flavor. The track is called KAS:ST – Are We Truly Free?, and it’s a dramatic but intensely melodic track that is sure to blow away any of those autumnal blues you might find yourself with.
The best way to describe KAS:ST – Are We Truly Free? to someone who has yet to hear it is that it’s absolutely massive. Nothing about this record is done by halves, with enormous room-shaking synths paired with fast punchy melodies and intense, crisp production. The track is primarily an instrumental, but like all the best Melodic House and Techno music, it doesn’t necessarily actually need lyrics to create a memorable musical moment that keeps listeners coming back for more. What the track does have, however, is an almost haunting sample, which asks “are we truly free?” throughout before dissolving into nothing and allowing a slew of annunciatory synth melodies to take over.
This new KAS:ST & Interstellar Records 2024 Melodic House & Techno music song isn’t one of those which takes a while to get into its stride either – it kicks off with a reverb-laden synth that bears more than a coincidental resemblance to a siren, immediately catching the listener’s attention in the process. The segment of poetic spoken word follows (“is this life we’re living real or a dream / a kaleidoscope of wonder or so it may seem”), elevating KAS:ST – Are We Truly Free? to more than just your typical Melodic Techno or House track in that it addresses a deeply moving topic and asks us to question the way in which we live our lives. Surely many readers out there will have to agree, there’s not many EDM tracks that can make you do that…
