The musical journey of Paris-based electronic music composer Hobo Noise continues with a new EP for 2024 titled Acid Scape. This new EP from Hobo Noise follows his release of the uplifting acid and synth wave track Bless from early 2024 and his captivating album Awake from 2023 which was the culmination of 5 years of production. Hobo Noise – Acid Scape EP continues the artist’s mix of natural and electronic instruments with influences that include Afro-Latino, Arabic, Brazilian, and Indian music. The results of the EP bring forth a global experience for the listener with its mix of Acid and Downtempo genres.

Hobo Noise – Acid Scape EP features three spellbinding tracks opening with Brazilian Sin. It opens with a drum circle-led groove and a steady four-on-the-floor kick drum beat. As the pulsing acid bass drops, a sonic focus enters in the form of an exotic wind instrument that mimics the howl of a wolf while a yelping cuica drum provides counter statements. At the midpoint of the track a hypnotic sequencing synth breakdown occurs that continues into the return of the main groove and bass adding even more ear candy to the original focus. Don’t Lie is the second track on the EP and it continues the precedent set by Brazilian Sin with drum circle-led grooves and throbbing bass lines with more of a synth and vocal focus. At the track’s midpoint, an invigorating sequencing synth melody powers through to the song’s completion. The addition of vocals on Don’t Lie gelled brilliantly with the sequencing synth when together. Don’t Lie‘s components set up for another vocal feature to come in the EP’s final track, Indian Scape.

Indian Scape features a mesmerizing groove that is once again made up of drum circle percussion mixed with electronic percussion and an oscillating bass line. After almost a minute of the groove’s goodness, a female-voiced melody enters followed by a hard-grooving sequencing bass synth countermelody just as satisfying as the pair in Don’t Lie. The track continues to build from that point as the vocals continue the back and forth with the bass synth sequence while adding other vocal harmonies and counter melodies to the mix. A real mind explosion point is where the vocals and the bass sequence finally come together providing a celebration of the senses for the listener.

The Hobo Noise – Acid Scape EP as a whole brings forth a great listening experience as the passion involved in its creation is passed on to the audience. Hobo Noise has cited that the cultural influences in the EP were passed on to him from his father’s experiences of living and studying in Tunisia. With the EP, Hobo Noise pays great tribute to his father who recently passed away providing an appreciation of their time together and those musical traditions passed down generationally.
