Hideout Festival 2022 Beach Party Lineup:

GORGON CITY

Gorgon City’s Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson Scott have firmly established themselves as one of the most revered contemporary dance music duos. They have amassed to date over 10 million singles and 1.5 billion global streams, rewarded for their now distinctly recognisable sound of timeless, often bass driven, house music.

DANNY HOWARD

Danny Howard has selected his way to become the tastemaker of his generation. Between hosting his influential Friday night show on BBC Radio 1 and heading his own record label Nothing Else Matters, he maintains an unwavering respect for his craft at the forefront of all that he does. In 2011, he secured the winning spot on a BBC Radio 1 talent search. It was a feat that ignited his career, and his implicit connection with club culture has since catapulted him to sell-out shows across Europe, Australia and the USA.

With productions released on some of the most respected labels in the industry – think Toolroom, Subliminal Records and Food Music – Danny has carved out a unique role for himself within the industry. In 2019, he relaunched his own imprint Nothing Else Matters as an independent label, with club-ready productions from influential DJs from Gerd Janson to Kill Frenzy, Raumakustik to Waze & Odyssey as well as rising stars such as Alisha, Iglesias, Joseph Edmund and PAX.

Always one step ahead, few cater to that dance-floor as adroitly as Danny, who believes that building a relationship with a crowd is the key to a successful set . “House is soulful, classy and tough when it wants to be,” he says. “But where the music is serious, my job is to create a party in all mediums of what I do.”

MEG WARD

Appointed one of BBC Music Introducing in the North East’s “Tips for 2021”, Meg Ward has emerged as a rising star of British electronic music. Her sound draws from acid house, electro, breakbeat and electronica, taking form as rave-ready bangers as well as lush synth soundscapes. Meg’s productions have been backed by heavyweights such as HAAi and Patrick Topping, with radio support coming courtesy of Jaguar, Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Nemone.

Bringing high energy and huge personality to every set, Meg has made quite an imprint on the club and radio circuit. Her residency at Newcastle upon Tyne’s favourite underground event ‘ILL Behaviour’ cemented her in the growing scene of Newcastle’s DJ talent, and she closed 2020 with a showcase mix on BBC Radio 6 Music. Meg featured as part of Danny Howard’s “lockdown linkup” series 3 with Hannah Wants, creating the track “Open Your Mind” together. Meg also featured on Annie Mac’s Mini Mix series in March 2021, producing an “instructions included” mix that received huge positive feedback.

Meg’s releases on labels Shall Not Fade, Clipp.Art, &friends, Zone Focus and NeedWant, plus a remix on Patrick Topping’s imprint Trick, have made it to dance floors (and livestreams) across the globe, and Mixmag Japan awarded her guestmix for FTP the best mix of 2020. Northern house has a new global ambassador.
