HEXED presents Above The Mountain, taking place on 24 and 31 December 2025 at The Grand Ballroom (Level 50), 1001 Nights Hotel Genting Highlands. Awarded five Malaysia Book of Records for the ‘Highest Altitude’ Hotel, Largest Banquet Hall, Clear Glass Sky Lift, Glass Bottom Link Bridge and Sky Glass Pyramid, this two-night experience blends music, culture and storytelling to close the year with intention and energy.
On 24th December, Christmas Eve, we honor the legacy of Malaysia’s Trance era. This night features DJs and producers who have shaped the scene for over a decade, each handpicked for their contribution, craft and long-standing commitment to elevating Malaysian dance music globally. Expect producer-driven sets, exclusive edits and unreleased material that merge nostalgia with forward-thinking sound.
On 31st December, New Year’s Eve, the focus shifts to House, Techno and Groove, the genres that form the foundation of electronic music. The lineup brings together label heads, collective leaders, established favorites and emerging names who have shaped both commercial and underground movements across the region. It serves as a celebration of rhythm, culture and community as we welcome 2026.
Both nights will feature a special showcase by Psycusix, Asia’s leading Modern Circus & Contemporary Arts collective, renowned for their visually captivating fire, light and movement performances that elevate the atmosphere throughout the night.
In his welcome address, HEXED Project Director Rhoma Khairi shared insights into the direction of this event:
“HEXED’s approach is built on intentional curation, a strong creative vision and a mission to elevate local talents by pushing boundaries and expanding Malaysia’s cultural footprint. Above The Mountain represents the connection between generations, driven by the community and created for the community.”

Chukie and Brian Doroz, professionally known as Chukiess & Whackboi, are DJs, record producers, and remixers hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They are renowned for their energetic live performances and are primarily recognized for their uniquely raw fusion of progressive, psy, techno, and trance music. Their music has garnered support from prominent figures in the industry, including Armin Van Buuren, Andrew Rayel, Ben Nicky, Blasterjaxx, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell, Ruben De Ronde, W&W, and many others.

Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, this Malaysian electronic music artist & DJ consistently hits global top 100 charts with his releases, electrifying the masses with his futurism inspired theme plus an energetic and euphoric personality both on stage and through his music.
With an array of tracks broadcasted on national radio : Hitz and FlyFM, Yusef has established himself as an artist who headlines venues across the region by virtue of his discography, international airwave plays, various record deals and viral hits like “我就是这样”, “ASIA” and “Evolution”.

NAZARUD is an electronic music veteran known for his wide variety of electronic music. By diversifying himself into various genres of electronic music; NAZARUD incorporates exotic instruments in his tracks to set a mystical and melodic journey for listeners. On the flip side, he is also known as Shaheed Naz, one half of Kuala Lumpur’s pioneering nu-disco act DANGERDISKO.
In 2012, NAZARUD formed a collective named Beatmilitia. This initiative provides a stage for the local underground DJ/Producer to shine through their series of shows.

The event takes place at 1001 Nights Hotel, Genting Highlands, Malaysia. The 1001 Nights Hotel sits at 6,000 feet above sea level at the peak of Genting Highlands, under the Trademark Collection by Wyndham. The hotel’s rooftop event space was officially recognized by the ASEAN Record Organization as the largest and highest-altitude rooftop event venue — 47,782 sq ft at 6,000 ft above sea level.
How do I get there?
The hotel is located at Jalan Ion Majestic, 69000 Genting Highlands, Pahang. View in Google Maps.
By Car / Tax / e-hailing service:
- Drive up via the Genting Sempah–Genting Highlands Highway (E8).
- Travel time from Kuala Lumpur Citi Centre is roughly 60 – 90 minutes (56KM away), from KLIA/KLIA 2 is roughly 2 hours (125KM away) and from Subang Airport (75KM away) is roughly 90 minutes away.
By Express Bus + Cable Car
- Take a Genting Express Bus from KL Sentral, Pudu Sentral, or TBS to the Awana Bus Terminal.
- From Awana Bus Terminal, head to Awana SkyWay (cable car) station, located in the same complex.
- Ride the Awana SkyWay gondola ~10 minutes up to Genting SkyAvenue Station.
- After arriving at SkyAvenue, you can either take a taxi/e-hailing service or book the hotel shuttle to reach 1001 Nights Hotel here. (Please select “From Genting Main Terminal to Grand Ion Majestic” option)
Are there shuttle services available?
Yes, there is a shuttle service (bus) available from 0805hrs – 0400hrs (from 1001 Nights Hotel Lobby to Genting Main Terminal and vice versa). The fee is RM7/pax per trip if purchased at the counter, RM6/pax per trip if purchased in advance here. (Please select “From Genting Main Terminal to Grand Ion Majestic” option)
There are also Midnight Shuttle services (car) available from 12:00 midnight to 7:00 am from 1001 Nights Hotel Lobby to First World Hotel Main Entrance and vice versa.
