Given that the label themselves describe the release as “a specially curated collection of tunes that encapsulates everything we love about our label and the community we’ve built around it”, you already know that the Deep Dark & Dangerous Decade 10 years compilation is going to be one of the hardest hitting releases of this year.
Although there’s a wealth of fantastic music to be explored on this new Dubstep, 140 and bass music compilation album from Deep Dark & Dangerous, we’ve picked out four of our favourite tracks to get you started. The first is a seriously fiery 140 track from the king of the Denver Dubstep scene, Sling Wave. The track is called Trachea, and it couples a deep, dirty bassline with a thundering kick drum and intense production. We’re also loving Madness by Ashez, a hard-hitting, bass-heavy track with a drop so irresistible you won’t be able to erase it from your brain for weeks after hearing it.
Elsewhere, there’s Gom Jabbar by The Widdler, which blends dramatic, ethereal female vocals with brutal subs and impactful drum beats. Our fourth highlight comes courtesy of Florida’s Breathworkz, who keeps things dark and savage with the bass-heavy Hydra.
