Line 1 is a new 2026 VA underground Techno EP, and the inaugural release on Liverpool-based label Assembly Records. The release features four tracks in total – namely Cuff by Puncta, Acid Twax by The Cyclist, Onward by Emmett G and Pulse by Strathearn – all of which represent the label’s core ethos of putting the spotlight on up and coming talent across the North West of England. How Puncta, The Cyclist, Emmett G & Strathearn Shape Assembly Records’ Line 1 Underground Techno EP
One of the key highlights of the new Assembly Records Line 1 EP is Puncta’s Cuff, a stripped-back, but impactful and percussive tune that is built on tight drums and an irresistible synth riff alongside some serious sub-bass. Its restrained, hypnotic progression sets the tone early, favoring subtle texture and groove over drops that are overly big or obvious.
The EP also features The Cyclist who follows with Acid Twax, bringing a pulsating edge through squelching, acid flavoured lines that twist and evolve across the track. It balances grit with control, nodding to classic Acid Techno whilst keeping a clean, modern feel.
Elsewhere on this 2026 Line 1 underground Techno EP, Emmett G keeps the acid vibes flowing with Onward. Layering rolling rhythms with airy pads and guttural but funky bass touches, the track retains a sense of lift and forward motion whilst always remaining grounded in the EP’s overall flow.
The fourth track Pulse by Strathearn, meanwhile, takes things up a notch. Driven by a pounding kick and tightly layered rhythms, this song is all about the energy, keeping intensity and danceability levels high throughout.
