Get ready all you Drum and Bass fans, because the electrifying new Diplo & HUGEL Forever Drum and Bass remix is here! The release comes as part of the Diplo & HUGEL Forever remixes EP, which features tracks by three iconic names in dance music, MEDUZA, MORTEN, and Jauz. It’s the Hugel & Diplo – Forever (Jauz DnB Remix) that we’ll be sharing with you today, and we’re sure that the DnB fans amongst you are going to be rushing to add the track to all your playlists.
The Hugel & Diplo – Forever (Jauz DnB Remix) takes the original Afro House version of the track and brings some bold, fresh new flavors to it. You’ll first notice that Jauz has upped the intensity of the track’s rhythm section, making way for some dramatic bass rumbles during the drops – which fans over on YouTube are already raving about – and of course, some classic, fast breakbeats. In this sense, this new Diplo & HUGEL Forever Drum and Bass remix brings much more contrast between the vocal segments of the song and the drops than can be heard on the original, lending it a propulsive energy that fans of the genre are sure to love.
Jauz also brings some serious drama to the track, slowly but surely building the vocals alongside some plaintive synth plucks in the intro, before unleashing a potent tidal wave of intensity during the drops. The vocals in particular suit this new arrangement very well, with the emotive aspect of the lyrics (“forever in my mind / only you”) being drawn out to a noticeable extent. In fact, although Jauz wasn’t the only artist to contribute to the Diplo & HUGEL Forever remixes EP, we can’t help feeling he has created one of the definitive remixes of the track with this release. Jauz explained the passion that went into the remix’s creation to Rave Jungle, saying: “getting to rework a hit record is always super fun but it’s even more special to do something official with a friend like Diplo, as well as an artist like HUGEL, who I’ve been a fan of for a long time. The original mix and vocal from Malou is so beautiful, I wasn’t sure where to take it at first, but ultimately my ear kept coming back to the Drum & Bass version you hear today”.
