Tearing onto the scene in 2009 with the German club chart topping “Fever”, Australian born So Called Friend has been making plenty of noise the world over from his adopted home of Hamburg the past 2 years – and not just because of his exceptional good looks and charm. He’s about to release his debut artist album on Raving Loony Records called “Bump In The Night” and so far the reaction has been huge with the second single, “Near Impossible” dominating the German Club Charts after its first week of release. Available for purchase on 30 August through iTunes, Beatport, Juno and Amazon the album features collaborations with a bunch of artists from all around the world including Marc Deal (Moonbootica Records, Germany), Kween G (Killa Queens/Sweat It Out Records Australia), Spoek Mathambo (Boys Noize Records/ Top Billin), A Girl And A Gun (Straight Up!) and many more.
With singles from the album already hitting Beatport’s ‘must hear’ electro and artist charts and remixes and originals receiving plenty of blog love, not to mention the underground success of his first music video for the lead single from Bump In The Night, “Feet” AND his upcoming collaboration with the international comedy supergroup ‘Axis of Awesome’ AND a tour of his homeland AND hosting the brand new Hamburg based music show ‘Electric City’ it’s a wonder he has the time to produce any new music. Well he does. With tracks coming out on Top Billin’ (Finland) plus enough material for his next artist album AND another music video for his Marc Deal collaboration ‘Near Impossible’ we suspect total world domination is not too far off the cards.
